Yesterday, Marc and I returned to the Newport Art Museum to put the finishing touches on our room for this museum's second annual Designer Holiday Table Tops event. Marc had already spent a long day over the Thanksgiving Holiday doing most of the decorating in this room.
You may remember this "Before" picture I posted a few weeks ago, when Marc and I went to the museum to view our room.
For this event, Interior Designers are invited to decorate one room each in this small museum for the Holidays. If a table is not already in the room, the museum will furnish one or the designer can bring in their own. All artwork must remain in the room, although some pieces can be swapped out for others. This table was already in the room, so Marc decided to work with it, but the chairs were stored, since there were also 6 other chairs that matched the table in the room.

For my part, I stenciled the tablecloth, 4 napkins and 4 sheer panels for the windows. Because this table was so huge, Marc made the tablecloth himself and then gave it to me to stencil. I used gold metallic paint for the stars and a silver metallic for the snowflakes. The stars and snowflakes are heavily clustered around the sides and then fade out to just a few of each element sprinkled on the table top.
Each of the napkins have a silver snowflake in one corner and then gold stars are randomly scattered about.
Oh, I almost forgot that I etched snowflakes onto 4 glass bulbs, which Marc used as napkin rings.
Friday night, December 5th, there will be a Wine Tasting event to kick off the opening of the Holiday Tables. I will take more pictures of the the other rooms that night and post next week. Until then, here are a few more shots of the room:
