Every now and then, I make some placemats. They are quick and always a lot of fun to do. I am working on a series of PetMats, Placemats for Pets, which I will be telling you all about very soon. But... two of my friends recently celebrated birthdays, so I thought I'd gift them each with a set of Birthday Placemats.
This set of 4 identical mats was done using a combination of stencils, paints, metallic paints, and gold foils.

Here is a closer look.

For this set of placemats, I did 4 different mats, but kept the same colors and some of the stencil patterns the same.

Again, I used a combination of foils, metallic paints, and flat paints.

The color looks a little off in this photo. It really is the same green as shown above. Now I know I did four different mats for this series, but I can only find three photos, so am not sure what happened to the fourth! I already gave them away, so cannot readily snap another pic.
The mats are sealed with three coats of polyurethane and can be easily cleaned with a damp sponge. I used RocLon Multipurpose cloth for the placemats because it cuts clean, no need to hem!
Now I just need to make a set for myself. Hmm... maybe some Holiday mats!
